Not a long one,
I'd just ask for a moment of your time to watch this short video from Tony Porter at the TED talks conference in Washington DC, This month
What did you think when watching this? Is this something you would say is an on-going thing that possibly could be rectified, or do you think it's too late? Personally, I find myself doing the same thing with my brother not because I want him to be trapped within the walls of this 'man box' but because it has become a way of life and showing vulnerability is to be weak whether you are male or female. Its just a shame that showing this aspect, this emotion that makes us human cant be highly respected, because once claimed we gain our own identity. Not conforming to stereotypes and becoming an individual. Whether or not we like it, we all have our own 'man box'..we all do it. I guess it depends on how extreme another person is willing to follow these 'man rules' I don't like to admit it (I'm female) but it somehow brings structure.
